How to Respond to RFPs/Tenders

This interactive course provides students with hands-on real-life experiences in:

  • How to write commercial proposals (based on cold calls).
  • How to respond to tenders and grants (aka Requests for Proposals).
  • How to decide which tenders/grants to respond to and which cold call proposals to write.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will learn about or enhance their understanding of the standard sections that make up tenders, grants and commercial proposals.
  • Students will learn how to make marketing cold calls and write commercial proposals based on those calls.
  • Students will become familiar with their personal strengths and weaknesses vis-a-vis sections of the RFP/tender.
  • Students will learn to write a due-diligence summary of the RFP/tender and develop criteria for a Bid/No Bid decision.
  • Students will learn to make objective presentations about their company’s/organization’s and their personal ability to develop a competitive proposal under actual deadlines

Business-Planning for the Ukrainian Society of the Deaf enterprises

After switching over to the market economy, the efficiency of the UTOG enterprises got worse considerably, as their products could hardly compete with the others . both in prices and design (the majority of the enterprises still used the old equipment; new technologies were not available due to the lack of money needed to buy new equipment and to fulfill re-equipment). Quite often, the enterprises could not plan their financial potential correctly.

The aim of the course is:

  • to make a business-plan form that could be adapted both to the present situation, which would allow successful production activities, and to the specific factors characterizing the UTOG enterprises operation.

Results of the course:

  • the UTOG enterprises will be able to better planning their production activities, to calculate their financial flows, which would enable them to hold up the more stable position in the market.

Social Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Deaf (Young Leader Training)

The Ukraine Society of the Deaf has a socially branched infrastructure of its own; this is made of 25 regional USD organizations, to which 129 USD territorial organization, and 35 cultural centers and their affiliations are subordinated.

The Ukraine Society of the Deaf provides solutions to the problems to the problems of the social protection of the rights and interests of nearly 56 000 deaf and hard-of-hearing persons.

Due to the financial shortage, long distance from the towns and absence of information technologies, the Ukraine Society of the Deaf suffers from late- dispached information for the deaf.

The aim of the course is to learn foreign partners. experience in the deaf education sphere. Besides, it provides publicity for the USD activities, and can tell us how the distance learning system is functioning, and how it is with the deaf distance operative communication system. The last is nowadays the most attractive means for integrations into the world deaf community, which helps to implement the state social politics dealing with formation of barrier-free access for the deaf. The USD must actively participate in this process.

After the training, results and knowledge are to be used for the benefit of the Deaf. It includes: USD website of its own to be made; communication and cooperation with young invalids (using Young Leader School), as well as Internet. Also, monitoring all Internet information and writing proposals, as to extending the information volume, providing consultations for web design programs. Further, new computer technologies for USD regional organizations websites, positive solutions to media problems, experienced, in our case, by the USD weekly newspaper .Nashe Zhyttya..

Introduction to Fashion Merchandising

With the help of this course students will learn some of the fundamentals of fashion theory and consumer demands, with emphasis on how these apply to the merchandising and retailing of fashion goods. The course explores how fiber, textile and apparel producers, retailers and home furnishings companies, merchandise and market their products within the industry and to the ultimate consumer. Students will engage in analyzing merchandising plans, store images, promotions and retail management approaches.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Sourdopedagogy - education and teaching of deaf

Sourdopedagogy – fundamental discipline, which is base for the study of row of the applied professional disciplines, in that number of the special methods of teaching of school objects, special correction methods.

The indicated course is offered for adaptation to teaching of deaf students, which prepare to become the teachers of schools for deaf children controlled from distance.

A course foresees forming at the students of pictures of features of development of persons with the lacks of ear, knowledge of the system of pedagogical help to the given category of children, understanding of basic approaches to education and teaching of deaf in the special educational establishments for children with the lacks of ear.

Theoretical basis of the given course – methodological positions of pedagogy and psychology. The study of clinical bases of defectology is pre-condition of the successful mastering of knowledges of sourdopedagogy.

Purpose of course :

  • to give to the students of knowledge of features and conformities
  • to the law of process of teaching and education of persons with the lacks of ear and professional pedagogical abilities of organization of work in the special establishments.

  • Theoretical preparation of students with the lacks of ear.

The Purpose of the course: acquaint with type of the speech breaches of deaf and methods to their correction.

The Program of the course includes theoretical and practical part and consists of the following sections:

1. The Feature of the speech development of deaf:

  • a particularities of the pronunciation,
  • a particularities lexical- grammatical sides speech,
  • a particularities liaison speech;

2. The Particularities correction work on speech breaches of the deaf:

  • a stages correction work ,
  • a principles and methods correction work ,
  • a particularities correction work on:
  • a shaping the pronunciation,
  • a development liaison speech.

As a result of work with given by program to users will be able:

  • get acquainted with theoretical knowledge about particularity of the speech development of deaf,
  • possess practical acceptance on correction speech breaches of deaf.

Open for you communication by sign language

If the deaf person is close to you and he/she needs you help in
communication or you just want to study deaf person language - sign language – and to help deaf and hard hearing people to integrate into community, give them an opportunity to be equal to other people, feel joy from communication – we propose you this course.

Deaf people talk to each other by sign language, so people who are around them should understand what they are talking about, what they are interested in and give them an explanation not just in words but also in sign language.

The auditory: everybody who are interested in development of communication possibilities of the deaf people – teachers at schools for the deaf, social service, relatives of the deaf people and so on.

The goal of the course: improve the communication of the deaf.

  • The history of the sign language.
  • The main requirements to demonstration of the sign language.
  • Dactylology.
  • The most common signs.
  • United signs for difficult words.

Persons who after taking the course found understanding in community of the deaf people enough to use it for help in communication deaf people around them.

Persons who would like to work like interpreter should pass an exam and take a license from Ukrainian Society of the Deaf .
